May 6 - We were up early and on our way to Lin's Place just of off the 401 at the Ridgetown exit.  We arrived about 7:40 and a few minutes later our nephew Doug arrived.

We all had a nice Sunday breakfast and they were on their way to Toronto by 8:15 a.m.  On the other hand, I was looking forward to a quiet day back at the coach to get some spring cleaning done.  I arrived back at the coach and was soon scrubbing floors and giving all the cabinets a good cleaning with the orange Pledge oil.  They look much better now.  I also snuck in an hour cat nap.  Doug came strolling back into the campground around 4 p.m.  Nephew Doug had dropped him off at the main gate.  We had both had a very good day.

See you all next week!

May 5- We were up at our usual time.  After we ate breakfast and did some other stuff around the coach, we were on our way to Chatham.

We took our portable propane tank with us.  We use it when we are sitting for extended periods of time.  We don't have to take the coach to fill the propane tank when it runs out.  We just disconnect the portable tank and take it.  Our tank had run out in the middle of the night, so it had been a cool morning.  We will be back in time to get it connected back up  so we will have heat tonight.  The nights are still quite cool here.

There was no rush today.  We were going to a retirement party for our daughter-in-law Rachael's Father - Ron.  He retired from Chrysler's in Windsor this past Monday.  Last Friday was his last official day of work, but he had to go to work on Monday and clock in for six minutes.  Don't know why, but that is what he had to do.

We arrived in Tilbury, at our son and daughter-in-laws house early.  That was okay because it gave us time to visit.  If she needed any help with last minute party items, she knew that I would give her a hand also.  We had a visit with Jody when he came home from work.  I helped pick up some balloons for the party and then waited for time to go.  It was a good party.  We enjoyed a real good buffet dinner along with about 75 other people.  We also had a good visit with the extended family.

Soon it was time to leave.  We still had to be back to hook up the propane tank otherwise it was going to get real cold tonight.

We arrived back at our park in plenty of time.  Doug hooked up the propane and we settled in for an hour or so of TV.  It is going to be an early morning tomorrow, as Doug is going to Toronto with our nephew Doug.

May 4 - Today is a work day for me and a visiting day for Doug.  It will be good to get back into the office for the day.  I know that I won't be there many days, so it is fun to dip my toes back into  working life.  Makes me appreciate my free time more and is a good reminder of how lucky we are to live the life that we do.

Doug stopped around to visit many friends and family members.  He shouldn't sleep for a week after all the caffeine he consumed today.  He also stopped at the pharmacy and picked up his new meds.  He says he is now a candidate for the Betty Ford Rehab center.  He doesn't like taking all these meds, but what can he do, when he needs them?

May 3- The day started out cool.  It is supposed to warm up finally.  We plan on sorting through the storage trailer.  We want to get it back to our storage place.  It is parked crossways of our site, so our view of the campground is blocked.  This has been a very busy spring for us.

We did get sorted through the trailer.  Still lots more to do.  We will have to see if we can move the date of the yard sale up to some day in May instead of June.  June is still a long way off.

May 2 - Today is yet another Doctor appointment.  We seem to schedule our lives around Doug's doctor appointments right now.  This time it is with our GP and Nurse Practicioner.  Doug had some blood work a couple of weeks ago and we are going to find out the results.  There is some grocery shopping to do and a visit to our nephew is also on our list.

Doug is going to Toronto with our nephew Doug on Sunday.  We had to arrange a meeting place and time.  Looks like I am going to have breakfast out Sunday morning.  We made arrangement to meet him at Lin's Place on Victoria Rd at the Ridgetown exit of the 401.  I will have breakfast with the two Dougs and then bring the car back for the day.  Nephew Doug asked me to go with them, but I thought this was a good day to get some things done at the coach without Doug being in the way for spring cleaning. 8)

May 1 - Today is another Doctor day.  Doug has an appointment in Windsor to see his eye specialist.  Dr. Curran saved the sight in Doug's right eye two years ago and he has complete confidence in Dr. Curran's ability to have him keep his eye sight.

We were up and away in good time.  Windsor is a good hour drive from here.  The appointment is for 1 p.m.  We like to be there about 15 minutes early.  Today we were in Windsor by 11:45 a.m. and decided to stop at McDonald's for a quick burger lunch.  We were still in the parking lot for our appointment by 12:30 p.m.  We sat and listened to the radio for awhile, then went into the office for Doug's appointment.  The office was open and there were several couples waiting for the good doctor's arrival.  When the check-in opened back up at 1 p.m. everyone registered for their appointments.  Now we wait.  Our parking permit was for one and a half hours.  At 1:30 p.m. the assistant came and took Doug to the examination room.  At 2:00 p.m. I went back to the car to get another parking permit.  At 2:30 p.m. I saw Dr. Curran striding quickly across the parking lot.  He must have had some complication of a treatment at the hospital.  Doug was back at the car by 3 p.m. and we were on our way home, with the knowledge that we had to return in two weeks for more laser treatments on Doug's right eye 8(.

It had been trying to rain all afternoon.  There had been a thunder and lightning show and heavy rain, while I was waiting for Doug in-between 2 and 3 p.m.  The rain, thunder and lightning continued to chase us all the way back to Chatham.  We were going to stop in Tilbury to pick up our mail, but changed our mind, because of the heavy rain.  The mail was nothing important.  It can wait.  We will be back in Tilbury on Saturday for a retirement party.

There wasn't much time left to the day, by the time we got back to the coach.  We had stopped and visited with Doug's sister and there cousin and another friend on the way home.  We hadn't seen them since we have come back, so today was the day.   We had a nice visit before we left.

Today is the day the office opens for our campground.  We will stop and finish paying for our seasonal site for this year.  OUCH!  A few hundred dollars more then last year, but we are confident we will save it in fuel cost.

We had dinner and settled in for an evening of watching TV, including American Idol.  We have never watched this program until this season.  It isn't on the top of our list of programs to watch, but Tuesdays and Wednesday's in this time slot, leaves us little choice.  We think Jordon will will the title this year with Belinda as a runner up.  Not many more Wednesdays before we know for sure.

April 30 - The last day of April slipped away in a cold rain.  We are hoping warm weather isn't far away.  We don't have much planned today.  It isn't a nice day for working outside.  We will have a lazy day.
