April 15 - We were up early, as usual, and had our usual bacon and eggs for Sunday breakfast. Sunday morning isn't right without bacon and eggs. We did some more work on our income tax and I also completed our son and daughter-in-laws income taxes and telefiled them.. We can't telefile ours, but theirs is filed and confirmed. There is a light at the end of the tunnel. Ours will be completed by the end of the week. The rest of the day was spent visiting with family. We have a lot to catch up on. See you next week. April 14th - Aw! Saturday. We are still parked in our son's driveway. It is a good place for us to be right now. We don't have much planned for today, just visiting with our son and daughter-in-law and it is still quite cool, so we will try to stay warm. We also have to work on our income tax. The date for filing in rolling around. We have to have them filed by April 30th. April 13 - Lots to do today after being away for six months. We wanted to check on friends and family, to see how they were doing, We also had a Doctors appointment, to get medication refills. Doug was lucky enough to get a list of blood test that need to be completed. I didn't get any home work (medical test). I have been watching my diet and exercising, so she said everything was fine with me. I just needed my medication refills. We took care of all our medical necessities and also checked in on some friends. We enjoyed catching up on all the events of the winter. The day flew by. Today is Friday the 13th, but has been a real good day. April 12- There was a gentle rain off and on all night. It is still cool, but warmer then it was in Davison, MI. We are quite a bit further south here, so instead of snow, we are getting rain. We can handle that. Doug went in to Chatham to meet his buddies for coffee, at their coffee shop. After he had a chat with them, he went around to see some of his other buds. There was a lot of gossip to get caught up on 8) I had a nice morning of sleeping in, until I felt like getting up. I lasted until 7:05 a.m., then couldn't stand it any longer. What a waste of a perfect morning to just be lazy. It was also a good time to get some vacuuming and dusting done, without having a body to move around. Much easier without Doug to trip over, while I am trying to dust or vacuum. We both enjoyed our morning, in our own way. It is good to have some away time, once in a while. We had lunch and set up the satellite internet dish, after he returned. We also had a nice visit with Jody and Rachael. It is always good to be back around family and friends. Tomorrow is doctor appointments. We will see how they go. Till then, we are calling it a day. April 11 - Happy Birthday Rachael!! We were up early. Breakfast was quickly eaten. We were both ready for our trip home today. It is great to get away, but just as great to get home again. We had the car hooked up and were on our way before most people had drank their first coffee for the morning. We rolled east on I-69 from the Irish Rd. just east of Flint, MI. Less then two hours later, we were stopping to pay the toll for the Bluewater Bridge. The trucks were backed up coming into the USA, but we were able to roll on across, east bound, with no delays. When we reached the customs booth, it was the same thing. A car was pulling out, just as we pulled up, and we did not have to wait. The female Customs Officer was very efficient with her questions, we answered, declaring what we had purchased and she wished us well, and sent us on our way. We rolled onto the 402 and turned off onto 40 south for Chatham. We had traveled this route many times. The traffic wasn't heavy. It was a great time of day to travel. We were quickly through Wallaceburg. Half an hour later we were pulling into Wal*Mart in Chatham. We parked the coach and went in to see if some of our relatives were working. One was. We had a quick chat, then ate a quick lunch at the McDonald's in this store. It is good to be home. We left Wal*Mart after lunch. We drove down the Pioneer Line to the Prince Albert. After we crossed Grand Ave and the Thames River, we turned west onto Park Ave. We had one more stop, before heading onto Tilbury. We stopped for propane at the local Co-Op. We wanted to make sure we had enough propane on-board for the next couple of weeks. The propane tank was filled and we were on the last leg of our homeward trip, for this year. Jody and Rachael had their vehicles cleared out of the driveway, so that we could get backed in, up to the garage door. Jody had put a new 30 amp service in for us. It works great. We were settled in and Doug's TV satellite set up and working great. The internet satellite can wait until tomorrow.
April 10 - We braved the cold and went to the grocery store. I can remember when weather like this, felt like a spring day to us. We have been spending to much time in warm weather. Now I know why people who live in Florida, walk around in winter coats, when the temperature drops below 65F. We are definitely feeling every degree of this cold. We also put the stone guard on the front of the car, charged the power pack that we use to power the Brake Buddy, and made sure all the basement doors were locked. We were ready to roll south. Not back to the U.S.A. south, but to Southern Ontario. Tomorrow is the day that we return home to Canada. April 9 - We were up at our usual time and it is still cold. When is spring going to come back? We did our best to stay warm. We have been in this coach in colder weather, but not at windy. The wind has a definite affect on the temperature inside our coach. We kept the drapes on the windshield and the blinds on the side windows pulled and were able to keep warm.
