It has been nearly two weeks since my last post. I don't know where my time is going. The days come and go, with lots still left to do, at the end of the day. Maybe I will be able to get everything done before we leave for the south. I will have a month to catch up, after I am finished work for this summer. We are back on our seasonal site for the rest of the summer. The little bit of it that is left. Doug continues with his doctor appointments and I have been filling in for staff members at my pre-retirement job, while they are on holidays. Filling in like this, gives me extra pocket money of my own and also keeps me current with all the changes that come along in this field of law. I also enjoy catching up with all the happenings of my co-workers. I have 5 more days to work this year, then the rest of the time is my own. I don't work those 5 days until after Labor Day and the final day I work this year is Sept. 10th. Then I will have to get moving to have everything ready for the fall. I still have carpets to clean and all the normal household chores to do. Our coach needs the equivalent of a good spring cleaning, after being here on the shores of Rondeau Bay all summer. Doug is having surgery on his hand this Wednesday. I am sure he will keep me busy the remainder of the week, as I play nurse. It is his right hand, so life will be interesting for a few days. We have been fulltime RV'ers for three years now. Time sure flies when we are having fun. Aug. 7th marked our third year on the road. We hope to have many more. It is a great lifestyle. We love traveling with all of the conveniences of home with us. We wouldn't enjoy the journey half as much, if we didn't have our motorhome. We have confirmed reservations until Nov. 28th and I am in the process of making a booking for December and January in Texas. I know it is a long way to book out, but we like planning this way. If we change our mind, we can cancel these reservations and make new ones, if available. This way we are assured of a place to stay, one way or the other. We will leave here Oct. 14th crossing over to Michigan on Oct. 22nd. From there we will stay here and there, moving on every week or two, until we reach our most southerly destination in Texas. We are both looking forward to being on the move again. We love traveling. First, comes Doug's hand surgery and physiotherapy. Lets hope it goes well. We have been noticing the birds are increasing in numbers every day, around here. It looks like they are beginning to flock for their winter flight south. We are in an excellent area to see a wide range of different birds, preparing for their winter migration. Unfortunately, there are many duck hunters on the bay, in the evenings also. Such is life. Many friends have shared a meal with us this past week. We had lunch at Bob and Debbies the first part of the week, on a day I wasn't working. We stopped in to see them on our way back from Chatham and Doug's pre-op appointment. They were having their lunch rather late. We enjoyed a nice burger and conversation with them, for a couple of hours, then we came back to the park.. Thursday night we met friends Butch and Margo and had a great dinner at Andy's Place on St. Clair St. in Chatham. Friday I had lunch with co-worker Marcella at Mike's Place on Queen St. in Chatham and this morning Doug took me out for breakfast at Jack's. in Blenheim. It has been a great week for me, when it comes to staying out of the kitchen. It was a nice change. Debbie and Gerry came into Jack's before we left, and we stayed and enjoyed a extra coffee with them. We sure packed a lot of visiting into this week, even though I worked part of it. We have been having lots of thunder, lightning and rain. The ground is saturated. It has been very humid and our air-conditioner hasn't had much time off. The humidity is brutal. It saps your energy very quick. Anyone with a breathing problem has a very difficult time with this thick air. We are looking forward to a bit cooler temp. Jody and Rachael is taking us out to dinner tomorrow, so I thought I would get this post completed today. We don't have an new photos this week, so I will share a photo from my childhood. This is the look-out on the property where I grew up. In the summer I saw it several times a day, as I guided the horses and riders around the 500 acres of my parents farm in Haliburton Highlands, Ontario. I hope you enjoy it. To me, it is one of the best places on earth.
See you next week!
