Feb. 4 - I have my dates off a bit on this file, but it will straighten out next week. Somehow yesterday I lost the top, left and right borders. I thought that I would change the color of the print, to make it easier to read and in the process I lost my borders. It took all day to figure out how to get back to square one. What a pain, but it is nearly back to normal. This was another day of showers and cool weather. We had a lazy Sunday. Doug watched TV and I did my best to correct my mistakes. Hopefully the weather will warm a bit and stop raining so that we can get outdoors and enjoy the warm Florida sun again. I know, we should consider ourselves lucky. At least we aren't hearing the furnace come on and off all day and night, putting our hard earned dollars up the chimney. It isn't all bad hear. We do enjoy even the damp weather, as long as it isn't cold enough for the furnace. 8) See you next week! Feb. 3 - Wow! What a day it was for many people yesterday in Central and North Florida. Our thoughts and prayers are with all the people that suffered losses from the tornado and other severe weather of yesterday. We were still having rain showers off and on, all day today. I went to the grocery store, but other then that we had a quiet day. Neither of us felt like going to far or doing to much in this weather. The sun will return to Florida in a few days. The good news is, the Peace River did not flood, so the camp sites that are in the flood area are okay. All the sites are damp and muddy, but none are under water. Everyone is happy about that. I have been doing a lot of work on this site. It really doesn't show at this point, but I am adding new content and will be adding the links soon. I hope that you will take the time to check them out when I get them posted. Enjoy your day, none of us know what tomorrow will bring. Feb. 2 - Ground Hog day! Looks like we are in for a short winter. Wiarton Willie didn't see his shadow either. We saw reports of severe weather north of us, including tornados. We checked out the weather bug and this is a Doppler screen shot.
Here is a link to over 100 photos of the damage. We received some heavy rain, thunder and lightning. We were lucky compared to several areas in Florida. We didn't receive any damaging winds or tornado's like they did north east of here around Lady Lake and other areas to the north. Once again our Guardian Angel is with us. Found this site today and have added it to my Computer help page. If you have WIFI questions, you might find the answer at http://www.wifisavvy.com/. Feb. 1 - We were up, had breakfast and I was off on a morning walk by 9. By 9:30 I was at the Ranger's Station and waiting with several other people, to be assigned to a sewer site. How exciting!!!! I took up a position right outside the door to the left of the door, when you are going in. As soon as the Ranger said that a few could come in to be assigned to a sewer site, I was through the door. They gave me the site number and I was off as fast as my Shank's ponies would carry me. The site was very satellite friendly, so I hoofed it back to the Ranger's station and told them we would take it. The Ranger said to move quickly, because sites have been known to be scooped by someone else, if we were slow in moving. That wasn't going to happen. I zoomed back to the coach as fast as the ponies would carry me. I think I have my 10,000 steps in already today. Back at the coach I told Doug we were moving. I grabbed the car keys and told him I was taking it over to the new site. Jumped in the car, took it to the new site and parked it so everyone would know this sit is occupied. Walked back to the coach (another couple 1,000 steps) and Doug was ready to move, The TV satellite had to be cranked down, the toaster put away and a few other things stowed, even though we were just moving over a half a dozen rows. All went well. Doug was backed in and we were hooked up, TV Satellite locked on, and lunch ate before 1 o'clock. Now, I started setting up my internet satellite. For some reason, I was doing something wrong. It passed all the cross-polls and everything, but I couldn't transmit. All the numbers were good. Now what. I messed with it off and on all afternoon, in-between showers. Finally, after supper, when I was ready to just pack everything up, I decided to go right back to square one and try it one more time. I turned off the computer again. Turned off the modem. Loosened the satellite dish and moved it from its setting. Turned the computer back on. Turned the Modem on. Opened the A1 pointing window and started all over again. Everything passed. I finished the installation setup, handed the computer back into Doug and stood waiting for all 5 blue lights to come on. Yah! Success! I don't know what I was doing wrong, but I think the biggest thing was I was getting impatient and trying to rush something that can't be rushed. The main thing is we are back on the air. And how was your day? Jan. 31 - We were up at our usual time and in no rush to get moving. We were only traveling 48 kms. or 29 miles today. It isn't going to take very long. Doug watched Regis and Kelly. I took a walk down to the lake for a final farewell. Marilyn was outside with their little dog Skooter and she walked on down to the lake with me. It was nice to have a final chat before leaving. We will be in touch, because she gave us their e-mail address. I will post the pictures here in the next couple of days. We reached our next stop before noon. They had our reservation mixed up again. The first time we were here , it was mixed up also. They had put us on an RPI site and we were coming in under ROD. We had no sewer hook-up and that doesn't work when you are staying a week. They had us put our name on a list to be moved tomorrow. We hope that we do get moved. This is a very busy campground at this time of year and there are numerous people all looking for sites with sewers. We are fourth on today's list, so we will see. Jan. 30 - This is our last full day at Buttonwood Bay. It is a nice park. More like a small suburb. There are many more park models then there are RV's. We have enjoyed our stay, and are ready to move on to the next adventure. We enjoyed meeting our neighbors-Bob and Marilyn from North Carolina. Marilyn and I had some enjoyable days at the water aerobics. We hope to see them again some day. Jan. 29 - We started preparing to move. The chairs were hung on the ladder and fastened down, the bikes went back on the bicycle rack. I went to the grocery store and bought the few things we would need in the next couple of days. It is time to move on. We are on our slow trip north.
