Jan. 6 - Well we still have the refrigerator problem.  Carl is doing his best to get it working correctly.

About a week ago I pulled a muscle in my back.  It has been slow going, but this morning I was able to go for my morning walk again.  I only walked about a mile today but it was also further then I walked yesterday.  Tomorrow will be further again, if all goes as planned.

We haven't been doing much, because we have been babysitting the refrigerator.  If the temperature goes up, then we are going to have to figure out a rescue plan for Doug's Red Hot Wieners.  I don't know how he would survive the balance of this winter, without his Red Hots. 8)

There are no no-see-ums here so far.  They are pesky little devils and we were happy to leave them behind in Fort Myers.  We continue to enjoy this park.  Everyone is very friendly and the sites are big enough to enjoy a bit of our own green space.  Here we don't feel like the jam in a jam sandwich like we did in Indian Creek RV Resort.  If you go to Indian Creek and they want to park you on site # 799, just say "No thank-you"  I would like another site.  The site was about 20 feet wide.  No breathing room at all.  Here the sites are about 30 feet wide.  That extra 10 feet makes a big difference.  Numerous sites are even wider.  See you next week!

Jan. 5  - We were up, and  on the phone to Carl at Central Florida Marine.   Carl was already away and working in Lake Placid.  Russ said that he would have him drop around here on his way back from Lake Placid.

I went for my morning walk and Doug watched the wrestling I had recorded for him last night.  We had lunch and waited.  Around 3 o'clock Doug heard the service truck coming.  Soon Carl was looking at the fridge.  Soon he had  it running on propane.  He is going to call Domenic to ask them what they think the problem is.  Good idea, could solve a lot of the trial and errors and big $$$'s to fix it.  Carl seems like a very honest fellow and we are sure he will get the problem solved soon.  He apologized to us for not having it fixed properly yesterday.

We will have to wait until he calls and hopefully it will continue to run on propane until he solves the problem.

One of our readers had e-mailed us to tell us about the Florida Flywheeler Park .  There is an event there Jan. 17th to 20th.  She said that there are lots of antique cars, and other interesting antiques, a fleamarket and lots of other stuff to look at.  We are looking forward to going to this even and also to possibly meeting Marg and Russ while we are there.

We will also be going to the Tampa RV show on Jan. 17th, so it will be a busy week and lots of fun..

I finally remembered to take my camera with me this morning.  Some of the flowers growing in the flower gardens here are our house plants at home.

This one we called a "Rubber Plant"  I don't have a green thumb, so do not know the acutal domestic name for ithem.

beautiful and here is a poinsetta.  The largest one I have ever seen.

gorgeous and then there was another plant  that I could not identify.  I looked at it very closely and it is a beautiful piece of coral.  The photo I took turned out very blurry so I will have to remember to take another one.  It was so beautiful and complex sitting in the garden standing out as the item to look at in that garden.

We received a much awaited phone call from friends Peggi and John of www.RVLiving.net.  They had to return to Ontario in December because of John's medical condition.  The call today was to tell us that they are leaving to come back to Florida tomorrow.  We are so happy to hear they are coming back.  We hope that John continues to recover from the medical condition that took them home so unexpectedly.  They received the green light from his doctor today to return to Florida.  Way to go John!!!

This week has gone by so fast.  Where does time go?  Time flies when you are having fun as been a true statement for us to make this week.  We could have skipped the refrigerator fun, but we can't have everything perfect. all the time 8)

We are going to do something away from the resort tomorrow, just don't know what yet, we will keep you posted.

Jan. 4th - Oh, O! we have a problem.  The refrigerator can't make up its mind what setting it wants to be on.  It keeps flipping inbetween electric and propane, acting very eratic.  I went to the park office yesterday and they recommend Central Florida Marine & RV Center.  863-385-8298.  We called and told them the fridge was acting up, made and appointment for today, and we are waiting for Carl from Central Florida Marine and RV Center to come and repair it.  He came along shortly before lunch and said he would be back after  lunch.  He said the electronic board was fried and he had another one on order for us.  He was back shortly after 2, put the board in, said we needed another part, put it in and still the fridge can't make up its mind where it wants to draw its power source from gas or electric.  If we take it off of automatic it still doesn't want to decide.  Something is still wrong....

Jan. 3rd - We went to the Cafe on the Lake for lunch.  There lunch special is $2.50, including a pop and chips.  I like that.  Maybe the cook will be able to take a few lunch time holidays.  I had the chili and it was excellent.  Doug had a 1/2 lb. he burger with the cheese and bacon inside the burger pattie.  He said it was really good, but it was so large that we should have shared it.  He wants to try the chili next time.

this is when it is closed.  When it is open people are all over the place.  They have extra seating to accomodate everyone and there is usually a line-up of hungry people.

do you want a closer look at the lake you can see in the distance through the trees?  It ls Lake Josephine

Sorry the photos are a little dark.  I had the camera set on beach for the light and I should have had it set on my usual setting.

We like this park.  It is a good combination of nature and suburb, which we enjoy.

Jan. 2, 2007 - Do you remember our little friend that slid down the inside of the sunscreen last month?  Well, guess what!  He came with us.  I am not sure where he rode, but we went outside this morning and there he was, suning himself on our fender.

He also checked out the back of a lawn chair and the inside of the large garbage pail. We wonder where he wil show up next.  He has adopted us!

We went to Lake Placid for some groceries.  We always seem to be grocery shopping, but storage in the refrigerator is limited, so many trips are necessary.   We did some exploring while we were out and became familiar with the areal.  We have lots of time to do other stuff.  There is lots to do here.

RECIPE FOR A HAPPY NEW YEAR

Take twelve whole months.
Clean them thoroughly of all bitterness,
hate, and jealousy.
Make them just as fresh and clean as possible Now cut each month into
twenty-eight, thirty, or thirty-one different
parts, but don't make up the whole batch at once.
Prepare it one day at a time out of these ingredients. Mix well into
each day one part of faith,
one part of patience, one part of courage,
and one part of work. Add to each day one part of hope,
faithfulness, generosity, and kindness.
Blend with one part prayer, one part meditation, and one good deed.
Season the whole with a dash of good spirits, a sprinkle of fun, a pinch
of play,
and a cupful of good humor Pour all of this into a vessel of love.
Cook thoroughly over radiant joy, garnish with a smile, and serve with
quietness, unselfishness, and
cheerfulness. You're bound to have a happy new year. ~Author Unknown~

This recipe by an unknown Author says it better then I ever could.  My Nephew Doug sent it to us and we are really happy he thought to send it to us.

We left Robins Nest RV Resort behind, after breakfast.  Within two hours we were into our new park for the month, hooked up, settled in and enjoying the remains of the first day of this New Year.  We wish each and everyone of you a Happy, Healthy New Year.
