Wow!  Last week of June already!  Summer is here and on its way to fall.

Last week I said we were empty nesters again and here is a photo to prove it.

Doug took the ladder down and the nest we thought was so flimsy was wedged in-between the steps on the extension ladder.  We had to really shake the ladder to get rid of the nest.  Doug put it in one of the basements so we won't have more birds using it as real estate.

We had more doctor appointments this week and Doug had his last COPD class.  He received a certificate of completion for his six weeks of perfect attendance.

We drove to London on Wednesday, to apply for out Passports.  We had the applications all filled out and ready to go.  They accepted my application and looked at my birth certificate and told me I would receive my Passport in the mail in about 15 days.

Doug didn't do as well.  They looked at his application and that was okay.  They looked at his birth certificate and said they could not accept it.  He had sat on it once to often and it was too dilapidated to be useful as identification.  They gave us the web site address to apply for another one online.  It was easy to apply and will be couriered to us.

The park has been quiet the first part of this week, but this weekend was very busy.  Lots of little ones zooming around on their bikes with fishing poles poking up in all directions.  They are having a big fireworks display for Dominion Day.  We were able to see the whole display though the windshield of our motorhome.  Much warmer and more comfortable by far.

Our nephew Mike and his fiance Aimie were here for the fireworks and stopped around to see us.  We had a nice chat.  Thanks for dropping by Mike and Aimie.

Sunday we picked up Mrs. MG and Marie and took them to the bar-b-que and fireworks in Blenheim to celebrate Canada Day.

There were a couple thousand people here for the celebrations.  The party was just starting and people had their lawn chairs lined up on the safe side of the yellow tape to see the fireworks.

We all enjoyed our visit and the fireworks.  It was very cool and windy again, so we moved the car into a location to see the fireworks and all sat in the car for a ring side seat.  Marie and I stepped out of the car for the finale.  It was awesome.

They had lots of activities for the children.  They were kept busy until it became dark enough for the fireworks.

The camera did its best, but the fireworks were far more beautiful and exciting then I was able to capture.

We hope you all had a Happy Canada Day and Happy Fourth of July to all of our American friends and families.

We have all of our soldiers to thank for our continued freedom.  Thank you to all the brave soldiers past, present and future who keeps us free and allows us to enjoy this great life that we do in North America.

We hope that your mission will be accomplished soon, allowing you to return to YOUR family and YOUR life in this great land of ours called NORTH AMERICA.
