Several weeks ago, Doug went out to the back of the coach and came back saying we had a condo on our ladder.  I went out to look and sure enough, we had a upper and lower condo.

There was a nest on the bottom step back in May.  For some reason it was never used and you can see bits of it still on the ladder.  The top one however has a very determined Mother Morning Dove.  She has sat there through rain and wind (lots of strong wind off of the bay).  We have reached the point where we didn't think that there were any eggs in the nest.   I zoomed in with our camera for a closer look.  We didn't want to scare her.  Sure enough, if you look close, there is an egg peaking out from under her.

We will leave her be for a couple more weeks and if her offspring isn't hatched by then, we will have to make the decision for her to abandon the nest.  We hope all her patience and fortitude hasn't been in vain.  She was sitting on the nest before Mother's Day.  I don't know how long the incubation period is, but that seems like a long, long time.

This has been a work week for me.  It is a long day.  I leave here at 8 a.m. and get back here at 6 p.m.  When I get home, there is dinner to prepare and then a bit of relax time after clean-up.  Next day get up and do it all again.  Now I know why I don't want a fulltime job.

Doug has been going to various Doctor appointments.  He drops me off at work and then visits friends until it is time for an appointment.  Works well, and he gets to visit and catch up on everything that has happened over the winter.  He enjoys that.

Jody came out Sunday morning and we all went to breakfast in Blenheim for Father's Day.  We all had a good visit.  Rachael went to a car race in Michigan.  It is an annual event for her.  She really enjoys the Nascar races.

That's about it for this week.  Not much happening.  We will let you know if the Morning Dove hatched her eggs next week.  We sure hope they do.

See you next week!
