Bayview is a nice park.  Hopefully, I am going to get better and feel like enjoying it.  We are just one block away from the Gulf of Mexico.  We took a drive over there and what a pretty sight.    000_0024 (Small).jpg (44609 bytes)It would be prettier still, if there were no tires, but maybe they were put there for a reason.  Who am I to say. Maybe they help to stop the sand from washing away.

We only have a couple of days left here and we haven't really done anything because of me being under the weather.

The weather has been beautiful  Up in the 80's.  This is what we have been looking for all winter.  Some day we will come back here and will be able to enjoy our visit.  100_1817 (Small).jpg (25128 bytes)

How is this for a Texas sunset?

March 11th is moving day.  We are on our way to Castaways RV Park  in Willis, TX.  We were heading north from here.  First we had to cross some water on the causeway east of Rockport, TX.  100_1827 (Small).jpg (40658 bytes)

We were headed for Houston, wondering what would be the best route through.  We don't enjoy heavy traffic with the coach.  When we are in the car it does not bother us.  We decided to go up around the outer rim on SR 1960 when we got to Houston.  We thought that it would be straight through with on and off ramps.  Wrong!  It was very busy, with lots of stop lights that were not in sync.  It did not matter what speed we went between lights, we had to stop.  On top of that, the city bus driver that was driving the same direction we were, was very erratic.  When he came to a bus stop he would stop - of course- and we pulled out and went around him.  The next thing we know he is passing us, then about one length of the bus further on pulled into the bus stop again, cutting us off.  This happened about 3 times.  The final time he did it we decided to stay out in the second lane.    There were four lanes going north.   The next thing he did was come roaring up beside us, on the right, turned wide into our lane and made a right had turn onto a side street, going full tilt.  Doug was watching traffic in front, on the left etc., and when the bus driver swung wide in front of us, I thought the mirror of the bus was going to come right through our windshield.  I yelped! and Doug swung further left just in time to avoid hitting the transit bus.  We checked the coach later, because I was sure we had exchanged paint, it was that close.  I am so glad Doug has excellent reflexes.

As soon as we got through Houston and back onto IS-45 all was well.  Wew!  I think that bus driver aged me about ten years.  That is one of lives experiences that I would have preferred to pass up.

We were north of Willis and on our way to the Castaways, shortly after leaving Houston.  We had no problem locating Castaways.  We signed in, parked and had the TV satellite up and locked on before Doug had everything hooked up outside.  This looks like it will be a nice spot for a couple of weeks.  This is another ROD plus park so we don't pay again.  We like this.  A whole month and no campground fees.

There are a few things that we want to see in this area.  We will have lots to do while we are here.  The weather is warm, we have a free full-hookup site in a 5 star resort with lots to see, what more could we ask for?

See you next week.
