June 4 to 10, 2007 June 10 - Doug decided we were going out for breakfast. Okay, I like that idea for a change! We went into Blenheim and stopped at the Venus De Milo restaurant. It has been open at the same location, for as long as I can remember. We had a good breakfast and then took a tour out to Evergreen Cemetery. We pulled some weeks around Doug's parents stone and also his two brothers. The Bay was calling us, so we headed back towards the campground. We decided to stop at friends Bob and Deb on the way home. We had a nice chat and Bob picked two heaping quarts of strawberries from his garden and sent them home with me. Ooooo!!!! they are so good. I love strawberries warm from the sun and they are so sweet. They also sent another armful of fresh rubarb home with me. What a treat. The rest of the day was spent relaxing and getting ready for work tomorrow. See you next week. There will actually be some photos next week. I keep forgetting to take them. But I have a couple to share with you. June 9 - We had a very laid back day. Didn't do much of anything. That is what it is like when you are retired and a full time RV'er. Some days are just lazy and slow. We enjoyed every minute of it. June 8 - The last day of another work week. Many people are just itching for the day to be finished, so that they can hit the road to their favourite campground or cottage. Others just want the day over so that they can do what they want to do, for the weekend. We hope you all enjoy your days off in your favourite way! June 7 - Another day in Chatham. Doug has COPD classes from 10 until 12. I am going to the class with him. We both came away with a better knowledge of how the body works and uses the oxygen that we breath. Interesting! We had another quick lunch, then returned to Blenheim and the bay. June 6 - We dusted off the bicycles today and took them for a ride. We went as far as the stop sign at the end of County 15. I wanted to go further, but it is quite a ride for Doug, so we turned back. We have to get him moving. We both need the exercise, but he is a lot like a baucky horse. We enjoyed the day. Very nice not having Doctors appointments. We appreciate all the work they are going to, checking Doug out, but all the appointments are very time consuming. As long as we get good results, we will consider it all time well spent. We finished off the day with a nice bbq for dinner. Back to school tomorrow. 8) June 5 - Doug had more test today. This is the big one that we have been hoping turns out okay. He is having a Echocardiogram and chest x-ray. We will know next week if the ticker is okay. Our fingers are crossed. We finished up the medical test and went out to Wal*Mart to see how the construction is coming along. The new part should open in the next week or so. We are getting a Wal*Mart SuperCentre in Chatham. Wal*Mart will have its grand opening in the the next couple of weeks. After a short visit with our niece Rita and a quick lunch, we headed back out to the lake. It is much cooler here and we enjoy the watching all the wild life. We have bunnies. Lots of them. We have brown ones and cottontails and white ones with black ears and the list goes on. We also have muskrat in the pond, on the road coming to our site in the park. There are also carp, which are very big fish, in the pond. At times they look like the horror movies of the parana fish in a feeding frenzy. There are also lots of birds. We can watch several pairs of White Swans feeding and floating around the bay. Beautiful! We also have finches, robins, morning doves, plus many more. Some of the little guys keep wanting to climb our sunscreen on the windshield of the coach. We get a close up view of them then. They really enjoy climbing the open weave of the sunscreen. We also have a very dedicated momma Morning Dove. I have photos of her and will upload some for you to see, next week. June 4 - More Doctors today. Everything went. better then we thought and things are starting to improve. The majority of Doug's test are coming back LOOKING GOOD. What a relief! 8) He still has a few hurtles to clear, but the worst should be over.
