Sept. 2005 We were back in Michigan sooner then we had originally planned. I called Outdoor Adventures, our membership parks, to ask if we could book into Saginaw Bay today instead of Sept. 3. They were booked full at Saginaw Bay, but said that we could stay Sept. 1 & 2 at Wilderness in Omer, MI and then move to Sept. 3rd for Labor Day weekend. We have never stayed at Wilderness, so thought that it was about time that we did. It is a large park with clubhouses, pool, adult lounge, and numerous entertainment options. The first part of the park is quite shady. Doug doesn't like the trees over the roof of the coach, so we continued on and found where the big units park. Numerous sites on both sides of the street, contained the large Class A's and 5th Wheels. We were one of those so there was a site for us also. We unhooked and Doug backed the coach in. While we were setting up everything, Marg sat in the coach looking around. There was many large, beautiful Class A's and also large 5th wheels filling all the large sites. We finished hooking up and came back inside. Next job was to get the satellite TV set up and working. We had a good signal very quick. Doug was happy. It had been a long day. After we were all set up, Marg and I went to register. I showed Marg where the showers were. Marg decided to walk up to the showers. We asked her if she knew where to go and she said "Oh, ya". Away she went. A few minutes later I looked out through the windshield and she is wandering around over in the storage lot. I told Doug that I was going to show her how to get to the showers. I headed her off at the end of one row and walked over to the showers with her. Before I left, I asked her if she knew how to get back. Again she said "Oh ya". I decided to give her the benefit of the doubt. I went back to the coach and waited. I was having my shower in our home, but I didn't want to shower until I knew she was back. I might have to alert search and rescue if she doesn't come back. Finally, she wandered back in. Said that she found the park confusing, because it is so large. It is interesting seeing it through another's eyes. Even though we had never stayed at this park before, we had a map of the park, and could find our way around very easy, because this is our way of life. On the other hand, Marg had looked at the map and didn't stop to find out what the map had to tell her. Sept. 2nd began quietly. We had heard of a liquidation center in Pinconning, MI and decided to go check it out. It was only a short drive and we were there in quick time. This store has such a wide variety of products. There is fishermen and hunter supplies, RV supplies, clothes, flags, ceramic statutes, plumbing, electrical, you name it, you can probably find it at this store, but at the same time it isn't like a big box store. It is more like the old fashioned country stores. We will be back. You never know what you will find. Sept. 3rd is our wedding anniversary. First on the agenda is moving to Saginaw Bay RV Resort for the weekend. Within an hour we were moved and set up in our new site. It is not far from Wilderness in Omer to Saginaw Bay just south of Standish, MI. Doug decided to take us to Ponderosa Steak House for dinner. Marg enjoyed her dinner also. It was nice to have some family with us this year to celebrate our anniversary. After dinner, we returned to the park and our coach for a quiet evening. We had traveled enough for a while, so are happy to just relax and enjoy the evening. Sunday was another quiet day. Marg went for a few walks and was able to find her way back. The children in the park was enjoying a long weekend, before school on Tuesday. They all have so much energy. All of the parks are a good place for children. They can run and play without worrying about the cars. The speed limit in the parks are strictly enforced and the children have the right of way. The park is one huge playground for them. They can fish, bicycle ride, go on hay rides, swim in one of 3 pools. There is miniature golf, basketball, paddle carts (2 & 4 passenger), a video game room, planned children activities and the list goes on. It is a child paradise. Good, safe fun for them. Monday we decided to go to see cousins Pat and Charlie. They were up at the cottage, just north of us. We had never been to the cottage before, so it was an interesting drive to the cottage. We only made a couple of wrong turns, but called them and they directed us right to the door. It is a real nice all season cabin and they enjoy going to it year round. Charlie enjoys fishing and hunting and both are possible here at the cottage. It is Charlie's birthday today also, just another reason to see them. The long weekend is over and now it is time to go home. We left first thing in the morning and crossed back over in Port Huron to Sarnia, Ontario. Soon we were set back up in our seasonal site at Branton-Cundick park near Sombra. The coach and the car both needed a good cleaning. The water is so hard in Saskatchewan that we did not want to use it to wash the coach and car. It left large spots on the surface. Now we had three weeks of dust and grime to remove. We had been over miles of roads under construction, plus millions of bugs had played chicken with the coach and lost. We won't get them both back in shape in one day, but we will give them a rinse today and tackle the big job tomorrow. Gord came and picked Marg up after he got home from work and got cleaned up. The three of us enjoyed our trip, but it will be nice to have our home back to ourselves again. We enjoy company, but we also enjoy our privacy. Three weeks is a long time to have company. Sept. 7th means that we are back in Windsor for a final check-up at Dr. Curran's office. Doug's cataract removal was completely healed and we were set for the winter. He didn't need any more laser treatments either. Both eyes looked good, accept his left eye would have a cataract removed in the spring. We returned home (Branton-Cundick) and started working to get the coach all back to being clean and in shape. We will be starting south for the winter soon. Just over a month to go. We will have to make our doctor appointment soon to stock up on our meds for the winter. Sept. 28, 2006 We haven't been doing very much, just kicking back and relaxing after our Saskatchewan trip. We have had a lot of cleaning to do, both the coach and car. Doug decided that we should take advantage of the great prices that General Motors has right now. We traded the Grand Am in on a Chev Cobalt. We received a good trade in price and a $500 gas card to go along with the deal. Now we have to rush to get the base plate on the car so that we can flat tow it. I am sure it will all come together. Pictures later. Don't have time to take them right now. We can't have anything get in the way of our departure date for the south. We also have to get the insurance transferred and the new insurance liability card before we depart. Lots to do and just over two weeks to get it completed in. Our power step on the coach isn't retracting properly either. What next. We checked with Sarnia RV and they want nearly $500 CDN for the step. I checked online at RV Surplus Elkhart's Largest & Most Complete RV Surplus Warehouse and they had one for $150 US. We wanted to try the new car out so left first thing this morning (Sept. 29) for a drive to Elkhart and back. It is a long drive for one day, but it goes quite quickly in the car. Besides we save about $300 CDN. Doug and Jody will put it on this weekend. The power step is nearly a necessity, and is so convenient. Today is the last day of another month. Where does time go:} We will be putting on our snow bird wings in a couple of weeks to start our southern migration for the winter.
