Time disappears in the blink of an eye. The last week of work, for this year is behind me. Now I don't have a schedule to work around. Doug has wrapped up nearly all of his doctor appointments. We only have a few more, then we are finished with them until next spring. Doug's hand is healing well, after the surgery. The stitches are out and the incision has healed over. Therapy is working wonders with getting the fingers working and straight. Dr. Hadad is an excellent upper limbs surgeon. He was able to move the finger as soon as he came to, after surgery. We are very happy with the progress he has experienced from day one. My last day of work for this year was Sept. 10th. I enjoy working and filling in for vacations, but I also enjoy the last day of work. We can now enjoy what is left to summer. We didn't waste any time. On Sept. 11th we went to Michigan with friends Don and Em. We took the ferry across at Walpole Island. We had a great day away. Don was looking for some parts for his 1953 Mercury car. Doug said that we would take him to Antique Auto, which is between Nine and Ten Mile, just north of Detroit. Unfortunately they don't appear to be in business. The store was closed, the sign was gone, with no notice in the window as to where they have moved to. It was a great resource for antique auto parts. Our next stop was for lunch. We found a nice restaurant near a K-Mart store, on our way back to the ferry. We had lunch and then went shopping. We didn't find anything we couldn't live without, so we crossed back over to Ontario. The crossing was made a lot easier with our new passports. It was a great day away. I have some photos to upload and put here, so I am going to stop for today and work on them. I will try to get it all done in the next couple of days. Check back soon, there is much more to come.
