Sept 1-15, 2006
Sept. 15, 2006 - Wow, the middle of September already. Where has
the summer went. In a few days it will be the first day of fall. The
nights are cooler and the days are shorter.
We went to Chatham yesterday and I had my second visit to our new Medical
team. All went well. My blood work and all the other test had come
back okay. That is good, because we don't want anything to hold us up on
going south. We might be having a slight detour on our trip south.
My sister is having major surgery on Sept. 27th and it is possible that we will
be leaving our coach home and traveling by car to Baltimore to see her. I
hope that she is well on her way to recovery by then.
I have six more days to work this year. I am looking forward to my 7
day a week freedom. I think that I am finally getting the hang of all this
time off, with a little work in-between.
Sept. 13, 2006 - It has been a few busy days since my last
post. We aren't going to be able to get out to Saskatchewan to our Uncle's
funeral. He is being cremated and will be returned to the little village
where he was born - Highgate, Ontario for internment.
You might notice that I have removed all of the google search boxes and
ads. I want to be able to give my web address to anyone that I want to,
without considering if I am giving it to a Family member or Friend
and worrying if they might click on a google ad. I have
replaced google with non-click through ads. There are a lot of great
companies and also a lot of Free'N'Fun
stuff for you to enjoy. I might add click throws at a later date, we will
see.

Alfred
Joseph James Burch 1925-2006
We have received some really sad news. Doug's Uncle Alfred Joseph Burch past
on to the promised land Sept. 7, 2006 in Regina, Saskatchewan. It was only a
year ago that we were returning from Lumsden, Saskatchewan, where he lived,
after attending his 80th birthday party. You can read that story at our blogs
for Aug. 16-30, 2005 and Sept. 1-15,
2005.
This
photo is one of Uncle Jo's favorite pass times-fishing, the other was
planes,
the first plane is one of the large ones
(DC-3) he flew commercially and

this is one he owned, .
the last photo from left to right is Doug, his
sister Marg, Alice friend of Uncle Joe and Uncle Joe-taken Aug. 2005 in Lumsden
SaskUncle Jo or as numerous people called him "Bud" flew in the Canadian
Air Force for years. His first post for basic training was at the Toronto
Exhibition grounds. He gained his wings and loved to fly. After the Air Force he
had numerous other flying jobs including flying the plane used for aerial
surveying of Northern Ontario. He flew commercial planes in the United States
for awhile and also flew in the far north. He shared many of his stories with us
which were always daring, dangerous, interesting and humorous.
Uncle Joe was the youngest child of Joseph James Burch and Alice Clark of
Highgate, Ontario. He was a very talented man. He loved to sing and was an
accomplished piano player. He leaves behind his daughter Louise and her husband
Phillip, and two sons John and Roy and numerous grandchildren.
We will miss you Uncle Jo. 1925-2006
Things are starting to come together. I called Staples this morning and
the repair parts for my computer wasn't in yet. About an hour later I
received a call from Scott at Staples to bring my computer in. I have it
back and it looks like a new one. No more broken case. Thanks Staples you
did deliver.
After we got the computer back we drove to Leisure Trailer Sales in
Tecumseh, Ontario. We had checked with all the local RV places in Sarnia
and a couple in London, but they didn't have the product in stock. Some
didn't even know what we were talking about. We were looking for an Extend
a Stay. It allows you to hook up a portable propane tank to the horizontal
tank in our class A motorhome.
We are getting low in propane and do not want to take down my satellite
dish and take the covers off of our tires, etc., to be able to take the
coach into Corunna
to get the propane tank filled. So the next best thing is get the Extend a
Stay kit and a portable propane tank- the same as regular
bar-b-ques use. We will be able to use it next summer also.
Hundreds of little birds are starting to flock together, here at the park.
They are getting ready for their long flight to warmer climates. We won't
be to long behind them. 8)
My sister is having her operation Sept. 27th.
We hope that all goes well and that they are able to make her well again.
Jody is coming to replace the hydraulic leveller tomorrow. I hope that it
isn't to difficult for him. Doug has a doctor's appointment in Chatham,
so I am all the help Jo will get until Doug returns.
The sun is setting in a blaze of glory and I can hear the snap of our
neighbors campfire. I can't see it because of a big 5'ver
between us, but I sure can hear it. It is time to go and enjoy their
company.
Until next time - enjoy life to the fullest!!

the drivers side.
Live each day to the fullest
