Time sure flies at this time of year for us.  We are a couple of weeks away from leaving for the winter.

Our extended family increased in numbers on Sept. 24th.  Dawn and Donnie welcomed their first child into the family.  They have a son- 7 pounds 6 ounces, by the name of Denver Joseph Charles.  Congratulation you two.  We are looking forward to seeing him.  Aimee sent us a photo of him and here he is.  Kind of sleepy, but OH! so beautiful!!!

The last week of Sept. was very busy for us.  We had final appointments to work in. Some were fun, such as having dinner with Doug's family Debbie and Gerry in Blenheim on Sept. 23rd and with Butch and Margo on Sept. 27th at Jersey's (a sports bar on Keil in Chatham).  We picked  Art up on Sept. 28th and took him to dinner at The Rovers in Wallaceburg.  We had excellent fish and chips there.  Art is 91 years old this year.  He was our neighbor when we lived in Louisville, Ontario. We enjoyed good company and conversation with all three engagements.

Saturday we went to Jack's Diner on Talbot in Blenheim and had a last breakfast there for this year.  Jack makes the best breakfast around.

Tuesday, Oct. 2nd Bob and Debbie invited us to dinner in their home.  We had the best Pork Tenderloin dinner we have ever tasted.  Bob is an excellent cook.  His son Gerry is also an excellent cook.  Gerry helped Debbie cook the dinner Sept. 23rd.  We have had so many great meals out this past week.  We have been trying to empty our cupboard, fridge and freezer before crossing into Michigan on Oct. 21 but at this rate I don't think we are going to get it done.

Our spare time was used making up the new sunscreen for the windshield, going to storage and dropping off all the extras that we don't need, but don't want to get rid of right now and doctor appointments.

We took the coach for its bi-annual emissions test on Oct. 5th in Blenheim.  It passed with flying colors.  After that we had to go and purchase our new sticker for our license plate.  Doug put the sticker on while I was getting a couple of things in the grocery store.

Doug has completed all the therapy treatments on his hand.  It is looking and working better everyday.  We also had our  last Doctor appointment for this year.  Jon Ann called in all of our prescriptions to last us for the winter.  We picked them up on Friday. Oct. 5th.  There was a couple of glitches with them, but our pharmacists  is working on getting everything corrected.  They are very helpful and knowledgeable.  We just have to find a place to store the winter supply.  Doug's boxes of medication takes up quite a bit of room.

We are now sitting in our son's driveway for the next week.  There is a couple of maintenance items to finish on the coach, then we are ready to go.

Rachael is making Thanksgiving dinner on Monday and I am working on Monday.  It is sort of an emergency call-in, can't give any more details then that.  Hopefully we will get it all done on Monday, but it will probably take another day or so.

We are having record setting temperatures in this area.  Our air-conditioner ran all last night and we have it running now.  I can never remember a Thanksgiving weekend this warm.  When we had the horses in Haliburton Highlands, we used to have to bundle up quite warm to ride them this weekend.  Twenty years has made a big change in the temperatures as far as Global Warming goes.

Happy Thanksgiving Canada!  We have a whole lot to be thankful for!

See you next week!
